Chamilandu - 15 Days

Chamilandu is situated in the southern end of the South Luangwa National Park, on the banks of the Luangwa River.

The camp offers comfort, class and beauty in one of the Luangwa Valleys prime remote river locations.

These 2m high tree house chalets are elegantly designed with a tasteful blend of modern classic decor and provide a bird’s eye view over the waters of the Luangwa River and Chindeni Hills.

A series of 7 ox-box lagoons yield a diversity of wildlife and attract abundant wildlife.

In line with The Bush camp Company’s individual design concept, Chamilandu’s authenticity resonates the personal touch, so important to the successful safari. Offering the African connoisseur comfort, class and beauty in one of Luangwa’s prime river locations; Chamilandu hosts the perfection that is magical Africa.

Catering for all safari tastes the camp offers both morning and evening walks and combinations of day and night game drives. After a dawn walk, enjoy a hearty brunch then relax before a late afternoon game drive.

Chamilandu Bushcamp is a small camp set in the shade of some tall African ebony trees, perched on the bank of a winding section of the Luangwa River. The owners of the camp, Bushcamp Company, have invested in making it stylish and comfortable, whilst working hard to retain a traditional bushcamp feeling, with the reed and thatch chalets completely open to the outside.

There are just three spacious chalets at Chamilandu Bushcamp, each set well apart, with uninterrupted views of the river and to the Nchindeni Hills beyond. Each is thatched, and raised about two metres off the ground on a timber platform. There are reed walls on three sides but the front of the bedroom is completely open, leading to a private viewing deck where comfortable chairs face the river. Although still very African in style the interiors are both contemporary and chic. Black mosquito netting works well with the neutral colour scheme and high-quality but simple furniture. Each room has a king-size bed, or two small double four-posters.
